Tickets and reservations
- What nights of the week are you open?
We are currently open from Tuesdays through to Saturdays, but keep an eye on our website for upcoming events in the venue on Sunday and Monday nights
- How does your payment system work?
The ticket price is R350 per person or R395 per person for ringside tables, which includes a fabulous welcome cocktail, a 3 course dinner, our sensational show and entry to the Fez club upstairs. Pre-payment of R175 per ticket secures your booking. This, plus the balance of your ticket and your beverages on the night will reflect on your bill at the end of the evening. Tables are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
- Can I book my tickets by e-mail?
Absolutely, however a booking is only confirmed on receipt of proof of deposit. Please email email@example.com
- Can I book a private room for functions?
The Vaudeville theatre is one large multi tiered space, with 10 intimate booths available downstairs. We do have a gorgeous VIP smoking lounge upstairs overlooking the entire venue which is available for private hire. For availability and rates please confer with our Box Office.
- Can I get in without a reservation?
No, but you are welcome to call on the day to see if there are any seats available. The Box Office operates until 6pm daily for last minute bookings. Call 0861SUPPER (787737)
- Is it possible to pay in advance for a friends bill?
Absolutely, contact the box office to arrange full payment. We also have Vaudeville gift vouchers available as a great gift option.
- Can I book your venue for exclusivity for private functions?

- What are your Box Office hours?
The Box Office is open between 10 am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.
- Do you take cheques?
We work strictly on a cash or credit card basis (Visa and Mastercard) , and we accept EFTs with proof of payment.
- Is gratuity included?
We do not add gratuity at the reservations stage of your booking. A 10% gratuity will be added onto the Food and Beverage component of your bill for tables of 8 or more at the end of the night. Any additional gratuities for service excellence will be most appreciated.
- Is my deposit refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable, hence us asking you to please confirm your final numbers before you make your booking. In the event of an emergency, we are more than willing to move your booking if we have 48 hours notice.
- Am I charged for guests in my party who are unable to join us on the night?
Not if you have let us know before noon on the day of your booking. You will however forfeit your deposit amount.
- What is the couvert charge for The Fez nightclub?
The entry fee for The Fez is dependent on the event that is being hosted on the night, be it our resident DJs, guest DJs or live bands. Please call our Box Office on 0861 787737 for more info pertaining to the night
What I need to know before I arrive
- What is your dress code?
We encourage that you drag your finery from your closet and dress up! However we accept all dress styles, and we have a Boutique stocked with eccentricities within the theatre from which you may purchase accessories to add to your fabulousness
- Where are you located?
You will find us at 11 Mechau St, between Bree and Buitengracht Streets just off the N1 at the foreshore end of the city bowl. For a map please click here
- Do you have parking and if so, is there a cost involved?
We have adequate street parking located directly around our venue. Parking guards are in attendance and are self employed. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
- When should I arrive?
The Theatre doors open at 19h00 and all guests must be seated by 19h45 pm.
- What is the latest arrival time you allow?
The show starts at 20h15; as it is a sequence of acts with a 3 course dinner timed to the show, we cannot rewind the show or the meal for you if you are late. The show must go on! We will seat you during a suitable break, so as to not disturb the performers and our seated guests
- What time does the theatre close?
The show usually finishes around 22h45. Last rounds in Vaudeville will be served by midnight and the theatre closes at 00h30, at which time we encourage you to make use of your free entry to the Fez bar and nightclub conveniently located upstairs, which operates until 2am. On nights that we have live bands performing on our main stage, we will need you to vacate your table within a half hour of the show ending, unless you have purchased tickets to the concert for that night.
The Menu and the Bars
- Do you have a bar?
We have non smoking cash bar/ lounge downstairs attached to the theatre which is not open to the public and is reserved for theatre guests only until after the show. Upstairs is The Fez bar and nightclub, which opens to the public at 9pm and operates until 2am.
- Do you sell cocktails?
We have the most superb array of classic and contemporary cocktails available to you from 19h00. Refer to the cocktail list on your table, or view the classic cocktails on our website on the Fez page.
- May I bring my own wine?
We have a NO corkage policy due to our fabulous selection of wines. Please refer to the dedicated webpage to view our current wine list.
- How often will your menu change?
Our menus run for 1 month at a time. Please refer to the websiteâ€™s â€˜menusâ€™ page to view the dates.
- Do you cater for vegetarians?
Our meze starter consists mostly of vegetarian dips and we always have a vegetarian main course option available. Please refer to the menu page on our website to view the current menu
- Are you Halaal friendly?
Yes we are. Our meat is all certified. While our kitchens are not certified, no pork or pork by-products are cooked, stored or served on our premises
- How do I go about securing an order to meet my special dietary requirements?
Any special food orders for you or any of your guests must be placed through our Box Office at least 48 hours before your booking
Odds and Ends
- I would like to arrange a private performance from your pool of talented performers for our table; is this possible?
Unfortunately we cannot outsource our entertainers to you, as they are contracted to perform exclusively in our show
- May I organise my own performance artist to entertain our group once your show has ended?
You may, provided that you have booked out our private VIP lounge upstairs, so as to not infringe on our other guests
- How often will your show content change?
Our show is constantly evolving as we introduce new acts and new performers to consistently offer you a world class show
- Can we come in at about 9 or 10pm for a quick drink at the bar?
You are welcome to join us from 21h00 at the Fez bar upstairs from Vaudeville, however this does not grant you access to the Vaudeville show
- Can I take photographs inside the venue?
You are welcome to be happy snappy before the show starts and during the breaks, but no photography is allowed during the show itself as it is disruptive to the performers. Similarly we would appreciate cell phones being turned to silent at the start of the show
- Do you have a smoking area?
We have the most dreamy outdoor smoking deck under a Bedouin tent with views of Table Mountain, and we have 2 cigarette machines located within the venue for your convenience
- Do you have an age limit?
We welcome people of all age groups from young to not so young, however we do not cater specifically for children and the 3 hour experience is decidedly risqu and not recommended for children, infants or toddlers
- Do you do anything for special occasions?
We love a celebration! We have a selection of gift ideas available which can be added to your bill. 48 hours notice would be appreciated
- Is there an incentive in place for the most costumed and interactive table?
Yes! We honour your involvement in our extravaganza by awarding a prize most nights of a bottle of Bubbly to the most creative and feisty table in the house!
- Can you arrange cakes or flowers?
Delicious cakes can be arranged through our Box Office at a cost of R250 per cake. We require 48 hours notice to make the necessary arrangements
- Are you wheelchair friendly?
Mostly. Our venue is multi tiered, and wheelchair access is limited to certain parts of the venue. We do have a wheelchair friendly toilet. Please inform the box office upon making your booking so that we can accommodate you at the most suitable table
- Is your gorgeous venue available as a location for shoots for fashion, film and commercials?
Absolutely! Please email email@example.com for half day and full day location rates. Full day location options are only available on the days that we are closed to the public at night
